Troops Rescue 31 Travellers After Terrorist Ambush on Borno Road

Nigerian troops have rescued 31 travellers after Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters reportedly intercepted four civilian vehicles on the Buratai-Kamuya Road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. The military said the incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Troops reportedly tracked the attackers through real-time surveillance and deployed a Quick Response Force. After an exchange of fire, the terrorists allegedly fled into the surrounding bush, leaving the travellers, four vehicles and several motorcycles behind. All 31 victims were said to be unharmed and were escorted to Buratai to continue their journey.
