Police said the motorist was advised to remove the tint or obtain the appropriate permit where necessary. The command maintained that regulating tinted windows supports security checks, as heavily tinted glass can prevent officers from seeing vehicle occupants. The command urged motorists not to offer inducements during enforcement and asked residents to report any officer who demands money. It said officers found guilty of extortion or other misconduct would face disciplinary action.
