Deputy Speaker Ogenyi Secures APC Nomination for Ado Constituency
Mrs. Lami Ogenyi, Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, has won the APC ticket for Ado State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election. In a primary election overseen by Returning Officer Abraham Akaater in Makurdi, Ogenyi led the field with 7,132 votes. Her closest rival, Mark Ochoga, received 264 votes, while Dickson Otokpa and Godswill Iduh polled 180 and 143 votes respectively. A total of 8,767 delegates cast ballots in the exercise. Having met all requirements of the Electoral Act and party guidelines, Ogenyi was officially declared the winner of the APC primary.
