Ex-50 Cent Crew Member Jailed for 18½ Years in UK Cocaine Ring
Thirteen members of a UK cocaine-trafficking network have been sentenced to a combined total of over 160 years behind bars. Among them is Abdirahiim “Samir” Hassan, a former touring staffer for American rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who received 18 years and six months at Derby Crown Court after being convicted of conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property. Derbyshire Police say the syndicate smuggled multiple kilograms of high-purity cocaine into the county and distributed it to organised crime groups and street dealers. Investigators linked Hassan to large-scale national trafficking and money laundering, describing how he travelled across England by train to collect illicit proceeds for the network. During the trial, Hassan presented a letter from Jackson seeking relaxed bail conditions so he could perform on a European tour. The rapper also offered £50,000 toward bail and called Hassan an essential team member. Authorities stress there is no evidence Jackson was aware of any criminal activity. Other leading figures received heavy terms, including 20 years for Harninder Purewal and 16½ years for Dominic Hulland. Police recovered nearly £70,000 in cryptocurrency and intercepted 10 kilograms of cocaine in a May 2024 raid. A 14th defendant is due to be sentenced in August.
