Political Thugs Kill Beloved Islamiyya Teacher in Bauchi
Residents of Karofin Madaki in Bauchi were stunned when 42-year-old Islamiyya teacher Rilwanu Dauda was fatally stabbed over a dispute about political posters. Witnesses say two brothers accused of plastering campaign materials on a billboard next to his home refused his request to remove them and attacked him. One of the assailants first struck Malam Dauda with a stick, and after bystanders chased them off, the younger brother returned with a knife. He stabbed the teacher in the stomach at the main gate. Dauda collapsed and was rushed to the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital, but died en route. His family, led by elder brother Hamza Dauda, is calling on police to arrest the killers and ensure justice. Neighbours describe the late cleric as humble, kind and generous, lamenting that such violence over a small provocation has become too common. According to local reports, residents fear that grudges or political thuggery are claiming innocent lives and urge authorities to take stronger action against political violence.
