Oyo Police Rescue Two Children from Bandit Abduction
Men of the Oyo State Police Command rescued two children abducted in Ebinpejo Village, Ibarapa East on June 26. The assailants had ransacked homes, assaulted residents and seized the youngsters. The Commissioner of Police ordered the Lanlate DPO to lead operatives alongside Amotekun, local vigilantes and hunters in a coordinated bush search. Using credible intelligence and technical support, the joint team traced the kidnappers’ hideout deep in the forest, triggering a gunfight that left one suspect wounded and captured. On June 28, a follow-up operation led to the arrest of another injured suspect and a local collaborator. A fourth individual, who travelled from Ilorin, was also detained. All four suspects are aiding investigations to dismantle the criminal network. Both children were recovered safely, treated for their injuries and reunited with their family. Police say the manhunt for remaining perpetrators continues and further updates will follow.
