Ogun SUBEB Screens 100 Aspirants for Primary School Headteacher Roles
The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board has screened 100 qualified candidates for headteacher positions in public primary schools across the state. This exercise aims to assess each aspirant’s intellectual capacity, leadership qualities and readiness for deployment. Board Chairman Olalekan Ifede explained that the interviews focus on candidates’ comportment, dressing and overall suitability. He urged them to approach the process with confidence and to embrace technology in modern educational leadership. Permanent Member Akeem Balogun encouraged the candidates to translate their brilliance into improved literacy and numeracy outcomes. The NUT chairman also called on the aspirants to “change the narrative” in their schools and commended ongoing SUBEB reforms. Earlier, the Board’s administration director noted that promotion will be strictly merit-based. Meanwhile, the SUBEB chairman praised teachers who maintained decorum during the ongoing third-term exams and highlighted findings from recent monitoring visits to several primary schools.
