Russia Says Seven Killed as Ukraine Launches Major Drone Attack on Moscow
Russian officials say at least seven people were killed after Ukraine launched what Moscow described as its largest drone attack of 2026. Russia said 822 drones were used, including about 600 aimed at Moscow, while strikes hit a Wildberries warehouse near the capital and killed residents in Rostov, Belgorod and the Moscow region. Ukraine also reported at least seven deaths and more than 39 injuries from Russian strikes. A guided aerial bomb hit a house in Zaporizhzhia, while further fatalities were reported in Kryvyi Rih, Sumy, Donetsk and Kherson. Russian missiles also damaged a book market in Kyiv, destroying books and stock belonging to traders. Both countries accuse the other of attacking civilian sites as the war increasingly relies on long-range drones and missiles.
