Omo-Agege Quits APC, Blames Delta State Political Rift
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has formally withdrawn his membership from the All Progressives Congress. In a letter to his ward chairman in Ughelli North, he cited recent party developments and political differences in Delta State. After consulting with supporters and political allies, he concluded that he can no longer advance the interests of Delta Central, Delta State, and Nigeria within the APC. He warned he would not remain a “sitting duck” in a party where his constituents’ needs are sidelined. His resignation follows reports that he lost the APC Delta Central senatorial primary to Senator Ede Dafinone ahead of the 2027 elections. Omo-Agege served as Deputy President of the 9th Senate from 2019 to 2023 and was a leading APC figure in Delta State.
