Ex-CIA analyst Larry Johnson said on a popular YouTube programme that in a weekend White House meeting, Trump asked to use the codes. He claims General Dan Caine invoked his authority and blocked the move amid a heated showdown. The nuclear code allegations remain unverified. It’s unclear what purpose the codes alone would serve. Earlier reports say military advisors also kept Trump out of a Situation Room briefing on a critical Iran rescue mission due to concerns over his unpredictability.
