Contract Stalemate Puts Nigeria’s Kingsley Ehizibue on Course to Exit Udinese

Contract Stalemate Puts Nigeria’s Kingsley Ehizibue on Course to Exit Udinese

Kingsley Ehizibue looks set to leave Serie A side Udinese after renewal talks reportedly stalled. His current deal expires in three days and salary demands have become a major sticking point. The versatile full-back joined Udinese from FC Köln in 2022 and has featured regularly at right-back and wing-back. The club had aimed to extend his contract until 2028 but an agreement now seems unlikely. Several European clubs are monitoring his status closely. If no late breakthrough occurs, the 30-year-old will depart as a free agent.

How do you think Ehizibue's stalled contract talks will affect Udinese's defense next season?

Do you mean how his departure might disrupt Udinese's defensive formation or just the right-back spot?

It seems rare for a player to stall talks until just three days before contract expiry, especially over salary.

I'm not convinced that salary demands are solely at fault; there might be other undisclosed reasons behind the impasse.

Udinese should explore interim deals or loan extensions until both sides agree on fair terms before the current contract lapses.
