Return of Omotara Johnson brings back the legendary “O.J.” in a crime drama directed by Adeoluwa Owu. Bukky Wright stars alongside Richard Mofe-Damijo, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Chidi Mokeme as a mother fighting to clear her son’s name when past enemies resurface. Njem: The Journey, fresh from its AFRIFF premiere, follows a young man torn between staying home and chasing his dream abroad. Uche Chukwu directs Chimezie Imo, Rotimi Salami and Kelechi Udegbe in this story of loss, love and difficult choices. On Different Grounds is Mildred Okwo’s warm romantic comedy about a separated couple who must share a home during their daughter’s wedding week. Alechenu, from Biodun Stephen, follows a boy’s search for his mother from Oyo to Lagos and uncovers long-buried family secrets. The cast includes Bimbo Ademoye, Mike Ezuruonye and Royal Aziomaku. Coming on 24 July, Apaara: The Outcast is an epic Yoruba tale of corruption, betrayal and ancient forces. Directed by Sunday Alabi Osibata and Damola Olatunji, it stars Ibrahim Chatta, Iyabo Ojo and Muyiwa Ademola in a story where justice and destiny collide.
