Achalla Rice Farmer Commends New Agriculture Commissioner, Calls for Mechanisation Support
Dr. Charles Okadigbo, a leading rice farmer and former Achalla Community President-General in Awka North, has congratulated the newly nominated Commissioners for Agriculture and Local Government and Community Affairs in Anambra State. He praised the governor’s choice of experienced nominees and urged the Agriculture Commissioner designate to ensure that federal and state food security programmes truly benefit genuine farmers. Dr. Okadigbo appealed for the provision of harrowing and tilling tractors to help rice farmers cultivate more land this season. He also encouraged the Local Government and Community Affairs nominee to prioritise resolving disputes over community leadership elections. According to him, settling these long-standing issues would pave the way for holistic development, lasting peace and security across affected communities.
