Two Nigerians Arrested in Delhi Over Rs 63,500 Online Romance Scam
Police say Kelvin Ogbu and Kingsley Emeka Ojobo created a fake Facebook profile named Kathlin and used it to befriend a man from Pataudi. They messaged the victim from both a UK and an Indian number to make the romance believable. After expressing interest in visiting India, “Kathlin” triggered a call from a fake customs officer demanding funds for airport clearance. Believing the story, the victim transferred Rs 63,500 into several bank accounts. Both suspects had entered India on business visas, and Kelvin already faced a case under the Foreigners Act in Delhi. The Cyber Crime unit arrested them at Jawahar Park in Delhi and recovered a phone used in the fraud. They have been presented to court, and investigations continue.
