Trump Announces 10-Day Israel–Lebanon Ceasefire to Start Within Hours
US President Donald Trump has posted that Israeli and Lebanese leaders agreed to a 10-day ceasefire set to begin at 17:00 EST. Lebanon’s prime minister welcomed the deal, but Israel has not yet commented. Trump did not mention Hezbollah in his announcement. He added that he will invite Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House for further peace talks. Earlier, Aoun thanked Trump for helping to “secure lasting peace and stability.” The ceasefire proposal follows deadly Israeli air strikes that destroyed a key bridge in southern Lebanon. Israel says its strikes target Hezbollah positions, while towns and villages in the south have faced widespread damage.
