Abese Olubadan and Veteran Journalist Lekan Alabi Dies at 76
Chief Lekan Alabi, the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland and a veteran journalist, has died at the age of 76. Alabi died in Lagos on Saturday morning, according to a statement from the Olubadan of Ibadan’s media office. He was a senior chief in the Olubadan-in-Council and previously served as press secretary to several military and civilian governors of Oyo State. He was widely respected for his contributions to journalism, public communication and media management in Oyo State. Family sources said he would be buried on Sunday in line with Islamic rites.
