ASUU Demands FG Tackle Insecurity and Economic Hardship

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on the Federal Government to address Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and economic challenges. During a press briefing in Jos, Professor Jurbe Mwolwus, chair of ASUU’s University of Jos chapter, warned that hunger, malnutrition and poverty are amplifying amid rising violence. He pointed to Boko Haram, banditry, farmer-herder clashes, kidnappings and other threats that have displaced communities across the North, South-East, South-West and South-South. ASUU urged urgent government action on insecurity, unemployment, inflation and food shortages.
