House of Representatives Mourns Passing of Kano Lawmaker Muhammad Danjuma Hassan

Abridged from a statement by the House spokesman, Akin Rotimi, the House of Representatives has announced the death of Muhammad Danjuma Hassan, MP for Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency. He passed away after a prolonged illness on Friday evening at the age of 66. Elected in 2023 on the New Nigeria Peoples Party platform, Hassan served as Deputy Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Lawmakers praised his decades of service as a legislative counsel and legal draftsman, noting that many key laws bear his influence. Before his election, Hassan rose through the National Assembly bureaucracy to the rank of Permanent Secretary, serving on several committees. The Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, extended condolences to his family, constituents and the people of Kano State. Hassan will be buried on Saturday according to Islamic rites.
