Police Report 20 Arrests, 11 Guns Recovered and 11 Kidnap Victims Rescued

The Nigeria Police Force says its operations between August 14 and 17 led to 20 arrests, the recovery of 11 firearms and 129 rounds of ammunition, and the rescue of 11 kidnap victims. In Adamawa State, suspected Boko Haram fighters attacked Dlang village in Hong LGA during heavy rainfall. A police inspector and four civilians were killed before the attackers reportedly fled following a military response. Security agencies have also warned of possible attacks in parts of Adamawa and neighbouring Borno State. Police also reported the arrest of a blacksmith in Ibadan for allegedly making firearms for criminal gangs. Other arrests were made in Anambra and Ogun states over alleged unlawful gun possession and motorcycle theft. The report further noted a boat collision in Bayelsa, a suspected human-body-part case in Kano, and mob attacks in Taraba and the FCT. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to security agencies.
