President Tinubu Touches Down in the UK for Historic State Visit – See Photos & Videos
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in London on Tuesday, March 17. He was accompanied by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and landed at Stansted Airport at 3:18 pm local time. On arrival, he was received by Deputy Lieutenant of Essex Mark Bevan on behalf of the British Royal Family. Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Mohammed Maidugu, and other senior officials also welcomed him. A delegation of senators, governors and ministers greeted the President at his hotel. Their presence sparked debate among Nigerians on why top leaders had to travel to the UK for the welcome. From March 18 to 19, the President and First Lady will be hosted at Windsor Castle. The visit will focus on boosting trade, investment and economic partnerships. Spokesman Bayo Onanuga said it will open new collaboration and business pathways for entrepreneurs from both nations.
