Trabzonspor Targets Nigeria’s Tolu Arokodare for 2026/27 Season

Trabzonspor Targets Nigeria’s Tolu Arokodare for 2026/27 Season

Trabzonspor have identified Nigerian international Tolu Arokodare as a leading candidate to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. The Black Sea Storm need a new centre-forward after Felipe Augusto’s move to Zenit St. Petersburg. Turkish media report that the 26-year-old striker, currently at Wolverhampton Wanderers, is high on their transfer shortlist for a season-long loan. Arokodare arrived at Wolves last summer from Genk and registered seven goals and two assists in 42 appearances. With Wolves relegated, he is keen to maintain top-tier football, and a switch to the Turkish Super Lig could guarantee him regular first-team action.

At 26, adapting to a new league and team style mid-career isn't always smooth, especially under high expectations.

I'm not convinced Trabzonspor should bank on a single signing; boosting midfield creativity could be crucial too.

He'll need regular game time before the season starts—preseason friendlies and training intensity will make all the difference.
