Seeking Affordable Gastroenterologist in Lagos for Possible Celiac Disease

I suspect I might have celiac disease. For almost a year, I dealt with persistent diarrhea and lower abdominal pain that only improved when I avoided gluten. I also experienced joint pain in my knees, nerve-like tingling in my right palm, occasional head discomfort, and back pain when bending and raising my head. My stomach constantly rumbles, and my stools have changed in shape and texture. I now eat once daily due to financial constraints, so I no longer have severe diarrhea, but I still notice mucus-like residue and soft, fragmented stools. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? Which affordable hospitals or gastroenterologists on Lagos Island can you recommend?

Avoiding gluten seems to ease symptoms, but other conditions can mimic celiac. You might want to track a food diary and symptom patterns.

Aren't specialist visits really costly? Maybe start with a comprehensive stool analysis before jumping into pricey consultations.

Consider checking for tissue transglutaminase antibodies at a public lab, then compare fees across clinics before booking a gastroenterologist.
