Trader Arraigned for N14m Rice Supply Fraud in Kaduna

Trader Arraigned for N14m Rice Supply Fraud in Kaduna

A trader, Ahmed Haruna, 40, has been arraigned before the Kaduna High Court on a single count of fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission alleges he took N14 million for a bulk rice order in 2025 but failed to deliver the goods and diverted the funds. Haruna pleaded not guilty when the charge was read. Justice Darius Khobo granted him bail of N1 million with two sureties. The sureties must reside in the court’s jurisdiction, show three years of tax payment records to the Kaduna State Government, and include one close relative of the accused. Proceedings have been adjourned until 30 May for the commencement of the hearing.

No dey give full payment upfront; always ask for stamped receipt and verify stock availability before you pay.
