Football coaches, managers and scouts in Anambra State have described the two-day Sports Performance Analysis Workshop as educative, enriching and innovative. Held at the Archbishop Obiefuna Pastoral and Retreat Centre in Awka, the event was organized by the Anambra State Football Coaches Association in partnership with Binary Sports Tech and the Anambra State Football Association. A total of 44 participants attended, including professional coaches, scouts and team managers. Experts leading the sessions included the President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, the founder of Binary Sports and the lead consultant at Binary Sports. In his address, the ANSFA chairman praised the programme as a step toward aligning local coaches with global best practices and thanked the state governor for supporting football development. Participants said the training enriched their understanding of modern tactics, data methods and performance modelling. They pledged to apply the new knowledge to build competitive teams and raise coaching standards across the state.

Two days of training hardly qualifies as transformative; coaches need ongoing support and follow-up sessions to see real change in performance.

Perhaps the association could establish monthly analysis meetups in each zone so coaches, managers, and scouts can continuously share best practices and data insights.
