Nigeria Dominates 2026 Uganda Para Badminton International, Bags 14 Medals

Nigeria’s Para Badminton team excelled at the 2026 Uganda Para Badminton International Championship from July 7 to 12, returning home with nine gold and five silver medals. Lyka Brown led the charge with gold in WH1 Women’s Singles and then teamed with Chukwuemeka Ijeoma Gift for WH1/WH2 Women’s Doubles gold. Chukwuemeka also won gold in WH2 Women’s Singles. In the wheelchair men’s events, Emmanuel Ifeanacho Ohaeri took gold in WH2 Men’s Singles and mixed doubles, while Ekeoma Samuel added two silvers in men’s doubles and singles. Nigeria’s standing players also impressed as Obinna Precious Nwosu, Nnanna Jeremiah Chigozie and Eneojo Elijah Agada claimed titles across SL3, SL4 and SU5 categories. Badminton Federation of Nigeria President Francis Orbih hailed the team’s resilience and pledged continued support ahead of Paralympic qualifying efforts.
