UK Conservatives Propose Social Housing Restrictions for Some Foreign Nationals

The UK Conservative Party has proposed restricting access to new social housing in England for some foreign nationals if it wins the next general election. The plan could affect immigrants, including Nigerians living in the UK. The party says the policy could free up about 228,144 homes for British families amid long housing waiting lists. Under the proposal, some current tenants who are not UK, Irish or eligible EU citizens could be asked to leave within six months.
