CP Nnanna Ama Posted as Anambra’s 36th Police Commissioner

The Police Service Commission has posted CP Nnanna Oji Ama as the 36th Commissioner of Police for Anambra State. He succeeds AIG Ikioye Orutugu, who was promoted and has retired from the role. The commission announced Ama's deployment alongside the postings of seven other commissioners to state commands and the appointment of AIG Auwal Musa Mohammed as Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil. It said the changes were made to meet operational needs. Ama previously served as CP Intelligence and has held roles in public relations, criminal investigation, operations, administration and community policing. He also served as Area Commander in Nnewi, an experience expected to aid his work as Anambra confronts kidnapping, armed robbery and cult-related violence. The new commissioner has been directed to uphold the rule of law and carry out his duties with professionalism, neutrality and integrity.
