Rivers APC Faction Invalidates Primaries, Sacks Chinda and Wike’s Loyalists

The Emeka Beke-led executive of Rivers State APC has declared all nominations from the recent primaries null and void. This move overturns the candidacy of Kingsley Chinda and other allies of Minister Nyesom Wike. The decision follows a Court of Appeal ruling that upheld a High Court judgment against the Tony Okocha-led faction. The Beke faction calls all actions by the Okocha group between December 2024 and May 2026 illegal. In a statement, the Beke spokesperson urged the APC National Working Committee to erase records of the invalid primaries. They also asked the state electoral commission to withdraw certificates of return issued to local government winners from the disqualified Okocha faction, warning against a repeat of the Zamfara case.
