Wave of Attacks: 50 Killed in Adamawa, Benue, Plateau; 23 Schoolchildren Kidnapped in Kogi
Late Sunday, suspected insurgents killed at least 39 residents of Guyaku community in Adamawa State. The attackers reportedly stormed the village for hours, burning homes, worship centres and destroying property. That same night, gunmen killed a pastor, his wife and two children in Gako Village, Plateau State. In Benue, suspected herdsmen raided Channel One community, killing seven people and injuring several others over a two-day assault. Also in Kogi State, armed men abducted 23 pupils and the wife of a school proprietor from an orphanage facility in Lokoja. Security operatives have rescued 15 students and are working to free the remaining eight, while warning against running unregistered schools in remote locations. Separately, gunmen kidnapped a farm manager in Akure North LGA of Ondo State. Police tactical units have been deployed to secure his release and apprehend those responsible.
