Stakeholders emphasised the role of cooperatives in reducing poverty at the 29th AGM of Anu Oluwapo Ijoko Cooperative in Abeokuta. The society achieved a net surplus of ₦19,338,737.92, up from ₦12.5 million last year, and admitted 11 new members. Officials from the Ogun State Co-operative Federation and the Ministry of Community Development praised the society’s performance. They urged members to increase their savings and share contributions for long-term sustainability. Gifts were presented to outstanding contributors, and new executives were elected. Mr. Abdullahi Azeez retained the presidency, with Alhaji Moruf Adeniyi as vice president and Mrs. Omolola Adeboye as treasurer. An interdenominational prayer session opened the meeting. Members were encouraged to explore further investment opportunities within the cooperative framework.
