MACBAN Petitions DSS, Plateau Governor Over Multiple Cattle Poisonings in Barkin Ladi
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Plateau State has petitioned Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the Department of State Services and the Commander of Operation Enduring Peace. They want action on repeated cattle killings and poisonings in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. The April 23, 2026 petition details attacks on April 18, 20, 22 and 23 across Rakung Village, Lokojora and the Nding axis. At least twenty cattle were either poisoned or killed in these incidents. MACBAN warns the pattern threatens herders’ livelihoods, local food security and community relations. They are calling on security agencies to investigate, make arrests and on the government to support affected herders. Members have been urged to stay calm and law-abiding while peace efforts continue. The Berom Youth Moulders Association has denied any involvement in the alleged attacks.
