UNIZIK Accountancy Department Kicks Off 7th International Conference on Africa’s Future
The Department of Accountancy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has launched its two-day 7th International Hybrid Conference themed “Shaping Africa’s Future through Accounting, Governance, Technology and Sustainable Business Management.” The event gathered scholars, policymakers and industry leaders to tackle development challenges. The university’s Vice-Chancellor highlighted the department’s growth and its ambition to become a standalone faculty. Speakers noted the importance of transparency, accountability and innovation for Africa’s prosperity. Key presentations came from the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, high-level industry advisers and former ministers. Discussions covered data-driven governance, technology adoption and the evolving role of accounting in building public trust and sustainable business practices. The conference included panel sessions, lead papers and the presentation of memorabilia to resource persons and patrons supporting the department’s academic advancement.
