Female Man O’War Officer Shot Dead in Ambush on Ibadan–Ago-Iwoye Expressway

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers ambushed commuters on the Ibadan–Ago-Iwoye Expressway around 6:30pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Armed men opened fire indiscriminately shortly after the convoy passed the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria. Officers including Dasola Sanusi managed to flee despite sustaining injuries. Patriot Sanusi Dasola was confirmed dead on arrival at a hospital in Ago-Iwoye. Another officer, Patriot Emmanuel, is receiving treatment, and two female colleagues remain hospitalized for trauma. Security agencies have launched an investigation into the attack.
