Bandits Abduct Bungudu LG Chairman After Deadly Zamfara Attack

Suspected bandits have abducted Nura Umar Bungudu, the chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area in Zamfara State, after attacking his residence in the Zango area on Thursday night. A resident said the attackers overpowered security personnel at the house, killing two police officers and two vigilantes. The gunmen reportedly took the chairman, his wife and children, but security operatives rescued several of the children during a pursuit. The assailants were said to have escaped before reinforcement teams arrived. The Zamfara State Police Command had not issued an official confirmation at the time of the report.
