Amaka Onwughalu, Anambra’s First Female Bank MD and Fidelity Bank Chair

Mrs Amaka Onwughalu boasts over 30 years of expertise in treasury management, corporate strategy and executive leadership. She currently chairs Fidelity Bank Plc, making history as its first female Chair and the second Anambra woman to lead a commercial bank in Nigeria. She also serves as CEO of Blueshield Financial Services and has driven growth at Skye Bank, Mainstreet Bank and Reliance Bank. Her strategic guidance shaped Mainstreet’s integration into Skye and marked her as the first female Acting MD at Reliance Bank. An alumna of the University of Buckingham, University of Port Harcourt and Leeds Metropolitan University, she further honed her skills through executive programmes at global institutions. She is a fellow of key professional bodies and a respected voice in corporate governance. Daughter of renowned Igbo industrialist Sir Joe Nwankwu, she remains committed to mentoring young professionals while balancing a fulfilling family life.
