There is no Justice Tsamma Abubakar in Nigeria’s appellate or Supreme Court. The tribunal that dismissed the post-election petitions was led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, who remains in good health and now sits on the Supreme Court. No reputable court statements or mainstream reports support any blindness claim. Graphics and quotes used in the viral posts follow patterns of fabricated news, including invented spokespersons and fake “What We Know” boxes. Similar rumours about Tsammani also surfaced in October 2023 and were dismissed by court officials.
