Tinubu and UK PM Starmer Seal £746m Port and Trade Deals in London
President Bola Tinubu met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London for high-level talks to deepen Nigeria–Britain relations. They signed Memoranda of Understanding on trade, investment, defence and cultural cooperation. A key outcome was a £746 million financing agreement between UK Export Finance, the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Federal Ministry of Finance. The funding will refurbish the Lagos Port Complex (Apapa Quays) and Tin Can Island Port Complex. Earlier, President Tinubu and the First Lady were guests of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle. A high-profile Nigerian delegation, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other ministers, joined the President for the visit.
