Oyo Police Debunks Reports of Abducted Pupil’s Death
The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed claims that one of the schoolchildren seized during the recent terrorist attack on three schools in Ahoro-Esiele, Oriire LGA, died in captivity. The force labelled the report false, malicious and intended to create panic. In a statement, the police spokesman said no security agency involved in the ongoing rescue has confirmed any death among the kidnapped pupils. He accused the authors of the story of using emotional and unverified narratives to manipulate public opinion. The command warned that spreading such misinformation could jeopardise rescue operations and inflict additional trauma on affected families. Residents are urged to trust only updates from official Nigeria Police Force channels and other authorised government agencies.
