Understanding Your Passport and Visa to Heaven

Understanding Your Passport and Visa to Heaven

Jesus said no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again (John 3:3). Holiness is also essential, for without it no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). Salvation is our ‘passport’ to heaven, and holiness is our ‘visa’. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus warns that not everyone who calls Him ‘Lord’ will enter heaven, only those who do the Father’s will. Verses 22–23 show that even miracles and ministry cannot save those who persist in sin. Many believers receive spiritual gifts and assume their anointing guarantees entry into heaven. But without repentance and a life of righteousness, those gifts offer no entry permit. Just as a student must attend classes and pass exams to graduate, Christians must maintain holiness until the end. May God help us walk in holiness and secure our place in eternity.

I worry that calling holiness a visa might suggest we earn heaven by our own merit rather than grace alone.
