Tactics to Overcome Google Play’s 12-Testers & 14-Day Testing Rule

If you open a new Google Play personal developer account, you now need at least 12 testers. They must install and use your app for 14 days before you can publish. I’ve seen many Naija apps stall at this stage. The build is ready, but it’s hard to find 12 active people. Friends install today and uninstall tomorrow, so the countdown resets. How are you handling it? Do you beg friends and family to keep the app installed? Has anyone sailed through on the first try? What’s the bigger struggle for you — finding testers or keeping them on board for the full two weeks? I run a tester network, so I see this pain every day. Share your experience and tips below.

Relying solely on friends might be too narrow; maybe reaching out to small interest groups or online communities could be more effective.

Create a simple onboarding survey and incentive plan so testers understand expectations and stay active for the full fourteen days.
