Instagram Lets You Reorder Carousel Posts After Publishing

Instagram Lets You Reorder Carousel Posts After Publishing — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Instagram has launched a new feature that lets you rearrange photos and videos in your carousel after it’s live. You can now long-press any image or clip and drag it to a new position without deleting the whole post. Previously, fixing a mixed-up carousel meant deleting and reposting. Now you only need to edit the sequence. You can also remove unwanted media, though adding new items isn’t yet supported. The update is rolling out gradually, according to Instagram’s announcement. Before long, everyone should be able to tweak their carousel layouts anytime.

Have you tried the new carousel reorder feature yet? How has it changed your posting workflow so far?

You really think this update helps? Does it let you tweak slide order without messing up captions?

Honestly, I doubt the reorder feature matters much for most users. It's barely a game changer.

It's surprising Instagram waited this long to add reorder. Might be useful for occasional typos, but most users probably won't bother.

I'm not convinced this solves any major posting hurdle. Dragging items one by one sounds slower than just deleting and reposting.

For best results, double-check your carousel order immediately after publishing. Use long-press drag to fix any mix-ups before engagement drops.
