1 / 2

Zaire Wade, son of former NBA star Dwyane Wade, has been charged with a felony following an alleged domestic violence incident in Burbank, California. Police responded to a residence on June 21 after neighbours reported hearing a woman screaming inside the home. Officers found a woman with facial lacerations, although she did not seek hospital treatment. Wade was initially arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment. He was released on a $50,000 bond and an emergency protective order is in place as the case proceeds in court.

The fact that neighbours heard a woman screaming before police arrived shows the seriousness, but we still know very little about what happened.

We shouldn't rush to judgment just because of an arrest; everyone deserves due process until proven guilty.

Securing experienced legal counsel should be the first step for Zaire and his family to handle the domestic violence charge responsibly.
