Ambassador Dambazau’s China Mission: EV Plants, Research Partnerships and Trade Boost — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Since his arrival in Beijing, Ambassador Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau has focused on renewing Nigeria’s ties with China through high-level engagement and investment drives. He has met with industry leaders at BAIC International and STELATO to explore establishing EV assembly and battery processing plants in Nigeria. He toured Huawei’s exhibition centre to understand smart governance and digital power solutions. He urged the tech giant to invest in youth training and CSR initiatives in Nigeria as it expands its telecom infrastructure. The Ambassador also hosted a delegation led by former Edo State governor Lucky Igbinedion to discuss research on the medicinal values of bitter kola and alligator pepper. In talks with China’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, he reaffirmed the One-China policy and secured support for trade, agriculture, and security cooperation under a zero-tariff framework. An intergovernmental committee will convene in July to advance these agendas.
