Ogun Rescues All Seven Abducted Gateway ICT Polytechnic Students; Two Suspects Arrested

Ogun State says all seven Gateway ICT Polytechnic students abducted by gunmen on July 29 have been rescued alive after a joint operation involving the police, military, DSS, NSCDC, Amotekun, vigilantes and local hunters. Governor Dapo Abiodun said five students were recovered in the first phase of the operation, while the remaining two were freed in a follow-up mission supported by police aerial surveillance. One student who suffered a gunshot injury has been treated and stabilised. Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested and are assisting investigators. Police said no ransom was paid, while security operatives continue to search the forest for other members of the gang.
