Facing the possibility of losing the APC ticket for Ogun West, Daniel reportedly finalised discussions with NDC leaders. The party has confirmed its readiness to welcome him as a senatorial aspirant. Daniel had previously vowed to oppose the APC if he was denied the Ogun West nomination. He also criticised state elders for favouring Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ambitions. Political observers are now awaiting his formal declaration and official switch to the NDC.
