Chadwick Boseman’s Brothers Seek to Remove Widow Over Estate Mismanagement

Chadwick Boseman’s Brothers Seek to Remove Widow Over Estate Mismanagement

Chadwick Boseman’s brothers, Kevin and Derrick, have asked a Los Angeles court to replace Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman as administrator of his estate. They argue she is not following a 2022 order that granted their parents half of the assets while she controls the remainder. The brothers claim Taylor has failed to distribute key estate holdings, including movie royalties, insurance policies and more than $3 million in bank accounts. They say the family has been left uninformed nearly six years after Chadwick’s passing. According to court filings, Taylor has yet to transfer a long-term care policy to their mother or account for posthumous residual payments. Kevin and Derrick allege her delays have deprived their parents of entitled benefits and caused emotional distress. Kevin and Derrick are asking the court to hold Taylor in contempt, demand a full accounting within 30 days, and appoint attorney Jason Rubin as the new administrator. They also want court approval for any future estate agreements and for Taylor to cover the family’s legal fees.

Do you think Chadwick Boseman's brothers have valid concerns about how the estate is managed?

I totally feel that. Managing a big estate no be small thing, so their worries make sense.

It's interesting they're challenging Taylor Simone Ledward's role after that 2022 order gave their parents half the assets.

Removing the widow now might do more harm than good if the estate fight drags on through more court battles.

Perhaps they should explore mediation or a neutral trustee appointment to avoid lengthy legal fees and preserve family relationships.
