Fayose Accuses Makinde of Plotting to Depose Olubadan Amid Palace Denials

Fayose Accuses Makinde of Plotting to Depose Olubadan Amid Palace Denials

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has reignited his allegation that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is orchestrating a plan to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. In a post on his official account, Fayose challenged skeptics to "keep their fingers crossed and follow unfolding events," claiming recent charges against the monarch are groundwork for sidelining him. He noted that both the state government and the palace previously denied any rift. The dispute intensified after the Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gbenga Oyekola, publicly distanced himself from alleged impeachment moves against Governor Makinde, reaffirming his loyalty and commitment to state peace. Oyo State’s Information Commissioner also dismissed the removal claim as "baseless propaganda," insisting there is no credible motive or plan to depose the Olubadan.

What evidence does Fayose provide to support Makinde's alleged plot, and why are skeptics so quick to dismiss these claims?

True talk. Till Fayose shows clear proof, it's natural people dismiss these claims as politics overreach.

Fair point, we haven't seen solid proof from Fayose, yet many rush to label his claim baseless.

The palace denial could just be a standard response to political gossip, rather than a firm refutation of these serious accusations.

Isn't it possible that Fayose is using this claim to distract from other issues in Ekiti, instead of focusing on genuine Olubadan concerns?

It might help if local media interview palace insiders directly, or if state legislators request clear documentation from both sides to clarify these allegations.
