Trabzonspor Cheers on Nwaiwu’s First Super Eagles Call-Up

Trabzonspor Cheers on Nwaiwu’s First Super Eagles Call-Up

Trabzonspor have congratulated Chibuike Nwaiwu after his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles, according to reports from a leading sports news outlet. The 22-year-old centre-back received a late call-up to replace the injured Fulham defender Calvin Bassey. He is set to make his international debut in Friday’s friendly against Iran. Since joining the Turkish Super Lig side from Austria’s Wolfsberger AC in January, Nwaiwu has featured in 10 league games. He has scored twice and provided one assist, earning praise from his new club ahead of his big day.

I agree, this call will sharpen his focus, boost confidence, and could energize the national team camp.

I agree it feels quite sudden, and I doubt it'll help him settle smoothly into camp.

I wonder if such early praise from Trabzonspor adds pressure rather than support for the new Super Eagles call-up.

Not sure this one appearance really proves he's ready for international battles, especially replacing someone like Bassey in defence.

Perhaps he should focus on mastering defensive partnerships and reading game situations before the Super Eagles match.
