Is Your Favourite Politician Funding Nigeria’s Bandits? Uncovering the Sponsors
Banditry surges around election season—from the North-East and North-West to now the South-West. Yet most of us only demand “Tinubu must go” when it punches closer to home. The truth is that these forest gangs have backers in the cities. Some sponsors are politicians; others may even have international ties. This is no random crime wave but a calculated campaign to destabilise. We need a two-pronged response: hunt down the armed men in the bush and, crucially, follow the money to the corridors of power. Investigate and expose every politician who gives orders or safe passage to kidnappers. It’s not enough to shout “Tinubu must fall.” Whether it’s Tinubu, Jonathan, Obi or Atiku, the crisis stays if we don’t dismantle the sponsors. Cut off the head in Abuja and Lagos; only then will the hands in the forest stop moving.
