Senate President Pledges to Make Insecurity a Thing of the Past
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration will use every available resource to end the country’s security challenges. He made this pledge during a courtesy visit from the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria at the National Assembly. Akpabio pointed to the rescue of abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State as proof of the government’s commitment. He warned against relying solely on social media reports, saying they often misrepresent the true situation on the ground. He also addressed the need for women to support each other in politics, attributing past setbacks to the actions of a few. Finally, Akpabio confirmed the Senate’s support for the upcoming international ladies’ golf tournament at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, where he was named Grand Patron.
